THE GIRL BEHIND THE CAMERA

Hi! I’m Rebecca and I am a natural wedding photographer based in Derbyshire but I shoot weddings all over

I live in the quiet town of Matlock which is situated on the edge of the scenic Peak District National Park. I live with my best friend and our 6 (yes, 6!) cats. My boyfriend and I also own a lovely black pointer named Lola. I enjoy doing pub quizzes with my friends, hosteling around the country with my boyfriend, spending time with my family, going on big long walks and occasionally going to the bingo (its a bloody good laugh)! I also love art, music and reading – my favourite artist is Frieda Kahlo and my favourite band is Fleetwood Mac. I particularly enjoy reading autobiographical books and one of my favourites is Just Kids by Patti Smith.

I really like learning about other peoples stories and their experiences. This has lead me to photographing weddings. I see my wedding photography as a way of capturing a real life love story.

I am a laid back wedding photographer and the pictures I take are honest and natural. I take mainly candid shots with a few formal portraits thrown in too. I am driven by people’s emotions and I like to capture those all important off gaurd shots. This documentary approach allows me to capture the moment without being obtrusive. I like to think of myself as more than a photographer too – I am also a storyteller and I’ll end up enjoying your day as much as you will! I have a taste for the unconventional, the non-traditional, the adventurous, the quirky and all things a little bit different.
