Top 5 Berlin Hotels for Music Lovers

Feisty and energetic, the city of Berlin has a huge attraction to music lovers of all genres. Clubs, music venues and studios- Berlin has it all. So why not immerse yourself in the music and stay in a music themed hotel? There truly is something for everyone, as this list of the Top 5 hotels for music lovers reveals.

nhow Berlin

This melodious list must begin with the top music hotel in Europe: nhow Berlin. The building is designed by star architect Sergei Tchoban with music in mind, and the offbeat interior envisioned by New York designer Karim Rashid, working together to create a music lovers delight. On offer is guitar and keyboard room service, an iPod connection in every room and a recording studio with panoramic views.

The hotel has a venue to put on music events and live sessions in a silent rehearsal room. And the first Saturday of the month is a jam-session the ‘nhow Music Night’. No wonder musicians and bands come from all over the world to stay here.

Located on the river Spree, opposite Berlin’s largest music venue the O2, and between MTV and Universal studios, the hotel is ideally situated for musicians and bands to enjoy the area.

A standard double room is €135 a night.

Rock’n’Roll Herberge Berlin

The Herberge is a rock venue through and through, with rooms that rock, drinks and live music that carries on late into the night, and a breakfast menu that is available until the afternoon. Rock ‘n’ roll heaven. Rock stars and rock lovers feel at home here relaxing, playing table football or billiards, and enjoying the atmosphere. Each Thursday is currywurst night, with vegan options available.

Double rooms for two people are €54

Michelberger Hotel

An eclectic is built “for Austrian carpenters, Swedish models or English rock stars”. It is loved by all and designed by seven artists. The building is an old brick factory, located in the lively “Ossi” district of Friedrichshain.

The spacious hall looks like a loft and the design interiors mix flat screen TVs, industrial boxes and flea market decor. A bar serves coffee, beverages and goulash soup. There is a courtyard which is used for concerts, and is the official headquarters of the Hollywood Swingers Club. You can even treat yourself to a massage.

The rooms are of varying sizes and shapes, some with bunks and some with doubles. A cosy double room is €73.50

Propeller Island

While technically not a music venue, Propeller Island is a must for this list. Berlin artist Lars Stroschen opened this eccentric hotel with extreme whacky-ness in mind. Lars was an electro music producer in the 90s, and opened the original hotel to fund his music.

It grew into this crazy hotel, in which you can sleep in anything your imagination can come up with: a coffin, a cage in the air, or a mirrored room. Some of the less adventurous guests may wish to choose the padded room, or Grandma’s House!

Centrally located near Kurfurstendamm.

Double rooms are priced from €89

Hotel Adlon Kempinski

This is one for star spotters and celebrity gossip lovers. Sleep in luxury like a pop star in this 5 star hotel on Unter Den Linden – right near the Brandenburg Gate. A smokers lounge, limousine services, butler services and in-house shopping arcade add to the feeling of decadence.

So where are the stars? Movie celebs from Charlie Chaplain to Angelina Jolie have graced the hallways of the Adlon, as well as Michael Jackson, who famously dangled a baby from one of the balconies.

Executive rooms from €260
